BioCompact Ltd. is a corporation of Osorno Enterprises and specializes in packaged wastewater treatment plants. Our wastewater treatment projects make use of Osorno's advanced control technologies to enable systems to operate largely unattended.
Based on the recommendation of JR Cousin Consultants Ltd, a consulting engineering firm, BioCompact Ltd. met with representatives of a federal client and Public Works Canada in 2008. Osorno installed a BioCompact® system to serve as a replacement for a malfunctioning wastewater treatment system. We monitor this plant remotely via satellite link under a maintenance contract.
We cannot disclose the identity of the federal client due to security concerns.
Due to our excellent record in Northern Manitoba, Health Canada decided to purchase a similar BioCompact® system for the nursing station of Red Sucker Lake First Nation in 2013. Osorno remotely monitors this system via satellite link under a maintenance contract.
The consulting engineer for this project was Neegan Burnside Ltd.
The Isla Navidad resort installed a wastewater treatment plant with two BioCompact® systems in 1994. Each of these systems was rated for a population of 1,000 people. Due to the generous safety margins of BioCompact® wastewater treatment systems, by 2006, the plant was treating wastewater produced by 4,400 people. The effluent quality is great enough that Isla Navidad uses it to water their golf course.
