The Osorno Automation Team began developing a plant security system in 2008 after observing unexplainable actions from a PLC system. Osorno changed the PLC's hardware to our open source ControLogic™ hardware. This led us to develop the security software that would evolve into the first version of SecureWall™.
In 2008, a government facility that was using SecureWall™ captured and prevented an average of 6,000 intrusion attempts in a 24 hour period. As of 2014, this number has increased to an average of 9,000 intrusion attempts every 24 hours.
